The Z1 AUDIO SYSTEM is a rebadged SONY XR-7302 Radio Cassette Head Unit, these branded units were only made for the first <200 cars before BMW switched to the more common Blaupunkt and Alpine units from the 3 and 5 series of the vintage.The system comprises of a Head unit, Amplifier, 2 footwell speakers and 2 seated in the top farthest cornes of the dash under the mesh grill, in addition a 10 Disc CD player was fitted to the boot, connected via the 5pin DIN plug. There are very few of these left with Z1 markings. To find a working one is a rare find and when they do, they tend to be quite expensive as owners seek to retain the original features that came with the car.
